Starting With the Covenant
Carol Mechler, Illinois
The year 2021 seems to have started out with enthusiasm for the covenant of love and its renewal. Carol Mechler from Illinois, shares with us the joy of having led one of her pilgrims who receives the Pilgrim MTA to the covenant of love with the Blessed Mother.
Today, January 21, 2021, on the feast of Our Lady of Consolation, Linda Kraudel made her covenant of love as part of the Schoenstatt’s Pilgrims Movement. She sealed her covenant in our Home Shrine: Mother and Queen of Our Family and Our Perfect Prayer Partner.
Sister Maria Victoria from the Schoenstatt Sisters who is presently working with the Pilgrims Movement, connected with us via Zoom. While being in the shrine in Waukesha she led the Dedication Rite. We began by singing “On This Day, O Beautiful Mother” and ended with “Immaculate Mary.” Linda prayed her dedication prayer with heartfelt tenderness and tears. Her candle and medal were blessed ahead of time. She signed her name into our covenant of love book we have prepared for pilgrims in our area. After the rite was completed, Sister rang the bell in the shrine for all to hear that someone new had just made the covenant of love. Sister explained that the sound of the bell also means that the Blessed Mother has accepted the covenant of love.
After saying our thanks and goodbyes to Sister Maria Victoria, Linda and I settled down in our Home Shrines and prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary for her intentions and in thanksgiving for such a wonderful experience, gift, and grace of her covenant of love.
