Sharing My Love for Mary in My Original Way
Phyllis Schicker, WI

I am Phyllis Schicker and I live in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, which is right between the Milwaukee and the Madison Dioceses. I attend St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, in the Diocese of Madison.
We have five Pilgrim MTAs routing throughout our parish and one MTA for nursing home visits. We started in 1993 after a visit from Sr. M. Elizabeth. So many blessings have come from our MTA’s visit… I personally do not receive the Pilgrim MTA as I have a home shrine. But I keep the MTA for the nursing home at home. Our Blessed Mother brings me much comfort through her presence at home. She is someone I turn to in time of need.
Our groups have continued to rotate the image from home to home, even during this period of the pandemic. I have checked with a few of the people who receive the image and they say all is going well with the rotation and the way in which they hand off to each person.
At this point we cannot yet visit any of our local facilities, In moments like this, I think of where would we be if John Pozzobon had not started this wonderful mission. I am able to share, in my original way, my love for Mary and her Son. For example, I have organized and started a Rosary Night in our parish. We first met on Wednesday evening, July 22 to pray the Rosary and other prayers to help us through these trying times. Then, we met outside in our church parking lot and brought our own chairs to sit on and masks to wear. Sixteen of us gathered for this occasion. We are going to continue meeting on the first and third Wednesday evenings of the month for the foreseeable future. We need all the help we can get from our Blessed Mother. These days, I am very grateful to be a part of this movement.
